I should investigate:

Whether the settings could be persisted and restored en masse to e.g. IndexedDB
Whether there are any frameworks that could help with this, and with visibility binding, refreshing etc., without being totally overkill.

The current mechanisms that Field Spotter uses for e.g. updating the visibility of items based on the selection in others, and loading/saving to localStorage, are very clunky and getting worse with each new feature added. I should investigate: 1. Whether the settings could be persisted and restored en masse to e.g. IndexedDB 2.
